Pickard fine china porcelain mayonnaise dish bowl with attached under liner plate. The gold maple leaf Pickard mark dates from around 1912 to around 1918. There is also a stamped mark “Nippon” on the maple leaf, and another word that I am having trouble reading, but part of it is “Nor” and I can’t make out the rest (see photo of mark).
This mayo set has a lovely floral pattern with pastel pink, yellow, lavender, blue, and green colors in a wreath shape and gold colored bow shapes, on a white background. There is gold painted trim around the rim of the bowl and the rim of the underplate.
This charming Pickard mayo bowl and underliner measures about 7 1/4” across the bottom saucer part, and measures about 4 ¼” across the top of the bowl. The piece stands about 2 ¼” high.
The mayonnaise set is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. I see a tiny almost invisible factory straw mark or manufacturing paint inconsistency on the top gold rim of the bowl, and I have included a photo of this for you to review.
