This is a vintage 1980 “Daises from Jimmy” fine china by Viletta, U.S.A., porcelain plate, second issue in the “Old Fashioned Mother's Day” limited edition series by America’s noted artist Jan Hagara. According to the certificate of authenticity “The plate edition was officially closed on May 11, 1980”. This is plate number 3836 from the Carson Mint, Carson City, Nevada. Both the original box and the certificate of authenticity are included.
This collector plate measures about 8 ½ inches across. It shows a charming scene with two young children, and one is holding an antique bisque baby doll. The child in blue with lace collar is holding white daisy flowers with yellow centers. The other child has what I would call a tan/peach colored hat with daisies on it. The background on the front of the plate has a beige/tan color floral shape print on a cream color. The plate has a gold painted outer edge. The artist name and date “Jan Hagara, c 1980” are on the front of the plate.
This plate is in excellent vintage used condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The box has a tiny bit of staining, and a little bit of corner and edge wear.
